After that, they can use the deep root system to quickly travel large distances around the world map. The campaign begins in Witchwood, where players will have to decide how handle the nearby dark elf and green skin factions. This means that the campaign will send players around the world map to restore magical forests and protect their glades by allying with or conquering nearby factions. The expansion sees players take control of The Twilight Sisters, who are tasked with stopping the corruption that has begun to rot the branches of the deep root system. Those magical forests and the deep root travel system will play an important role in the upcoming DLC. Most notable is the role of amber, which was once needed for nearly all of the faction’s upgrades, but is now only necessary for research projects. While their units remain the same, the overhaul changes several of the wood elves’ campaign mechanics. The faction was one of the earliest races to be included in the first Warhammer’s DLC content, making them one of the most sensible factions to receive an update.
